Tornado build air movement fans for grow rooms rather than offices – DC motors, proper mounting options and the size range you actually need once a room gets past one tent.
The range
- 18in DC wall fan – mounted, keeps floor space clear. The default for a room with plants in it.
- 18in DC floor fan and 18in DC pedestal fan – free-standing, moveable.
- 26in DC mister stand fan with a 42 litre tank – moves air and adds humidity, useful in a dry veg room.
- Pro EC variable speed box fan for 10in or 12in ducting – this one is extraction, not circulation. See EC fans.
Why DC motors
DC fans draw far less power than AC at the same airflow and are genuinely quiet turned down – and unlike an AC fan on a dimmer, a DC fan turned to half speed actually uses less electricity rather than just making less noise. In a room running 18 hours a day that adds up.
Circulation is not extraction
These move air inside the room. They do not remove heat or smell – you still need extraction and a carbon filter for that. What circulation does is break up humid pockets in the canopy, thicken stems and stop the hot layer sitting under the light.
Point them across the canopy or at a wall, never straight at the plants – constant direct airflow causes windburn. See wall fans, pedestal fans, floor fans and clip fans.
