Propagation tents - often called clone tents - are short, shallow and built to sit on a bench. They hold trays rather than pots, keep humidity high around cuttings, and give you a controlled dark cycle separate from your main room. We stock 24.

What makes a propagation tent different

• Height. Typically 60-120cm rather than 200cm. You are lighting a tray, not a canopy.
• Depth. Often 40-60cm, so it fits on a bench or shelf against a wall.
• Light-tightness. The point of a separate tent is an independent photoperiod - 18/6 for cuttings while your flowering room runs 12/12.
• Low heat load. A propagation bar or T5 puts out very little, so extraction needs are minimal.

What to put in one

• Propagators - heated propagators and domes to sit inside the tent
• Propagation grow lights - 6500K bars and T5s, the right spectrum for rooting
• Propagation media - rooting sponges, plugs and cubes
• Propagation nutrients - rooting gels and weak feeds for cuttings

Do you need one?

If you take your own cuttings, yes - it is the cheapest way to run a separate photoperiod without building a second room. If you buy in plants or grow from seed in the same space, a small grow tent or a heated propagator on a shelf will do the job instead.

Sizing

Most propagation tents are 60 x 40cm up to 120 x 60cm. Match it to your tray size - a standard seed tray is roughly 60 x 40cm, so a 120 x 60cm tent takes four comfortably.
