Why height matters in propagation
The usual failure with a fixed-height propagator is that seedlings touch the lid within a week or two, and you are forced to pot on before the roots are ready or take the lid off and lose the humidity. Extenders remove that choice – you add a ring and carry on.
Running one
Bottom heat at 21-24°C is what actually drives rooting, so pair with a heat mat unless the room is genuinely warm. Vents shut for the first two to three days after taking cuttings, then opened progressively over the following week. Low light only – see propagation grow lights.
