Frequently Asked Questions

What size extraction kit do I need for my grow tent?

Pick the fan size that moves your tent's volume of air about once a minute, then make sure the filter is rated at or above that fan. Multiply width x length x height in metres, then multiply by 60 to get the airflow you want in m3/h. Add some headroom for a warm loft or a hot summer, because it is better to run a slightly bigger fan turned down than a small one flat out. Our grow room fan and filter calculator will do the sums for you.

Is the CarboAir filter big enough for the Cloudline Pro S fan?

Yes, on every size. Each filter is rated at or above its fan: a CarboAir 50 at 410 m3/h against 348 on the 4 inch, 1150 against 683 on the 6 inch, 2500 against 2040 on the 10 inch and 3100 against 2725 on the 12 inch. The 8 inch kit uses a CarboAir 60 (1700 m3/h against the fan's 1371), because the CarboAir 50 tops out just under it at that size.

Does the AC Infinity Cloudline Pro S come with duct clips?

Yes. The clips are packed in the fan's own box, so you do not need to buy any. They come in a small bag that is easy to miss, so check the packaging before you bin it.

Does this extraction kit include a speed controller?

Yes, the Cloudline Pro S comes with its own 10-speed controller, so you can slow the fan right down for a quieter tent. It is a manual dial with no app. If you want Wi-Fi, scheduling or temperature triggers later, you can step up to an AC Infinity UIS controller or one of the Cloudline Pro T fan and controller combos.

Is 5m of ducting enough for a grow tent?

For most tent setups, yes. 5m covers filter to fan and fan to outlet with room to spare. If you are venting through a loft or across a bigger room, 10m combi ducting is sold separately in every size, and longer runs cost you some airflow, so go up a size on the fan if the route is awkward.

What order do I connect the filter, fan and ducting?

Filter first, then fan, then ducting out. Hang the carbon filter inside the tent so it cleans the air before the fan pulls it out, connect the fan to the filter with a short length of duct, and run the rest of the duct to your outlet. Pull each joint tight with the clips and seal any gaps with tape so the fan is not sucking air from the wrong place.

Description

Why Cloudline Pro S, And Why CarboAir

  • Quiet EC motor with speed control. The Cloudline Pro S has a 10-speed controller, so you can dial it back at night instead of running it flat out.
  • A filter that keeps up. Every filter here is rated at or above its fan's airflow. We use the CarboAir 60 on the 8 inch because the CarboAir 50 tops out just short of that fan.
  • Nothing to match up. Fan, filter and duct all come sized to each other. The clips are already in the fan's box.
  • Room to upgrade. Add an AC Infinity UIS 69 Pro controller later for app control and scheduling.

Setting It Up

Hang the filter inside the tent, run a short length of duct from the filter to the fan, then take the rest of the duct out to your outlet. Pull every joint tight with the clips and seal any gaps with tape so the fan is not pulling air from the wrong place. If you are unsure how the pieces fit together, our grow room extraction guide walks through it.
