Description
The AC Infinity UIS Controller AI+ (CTR89A) is the 8-port smart grow room controller, supplied with the CO2 sensor in the box. Same controller as the standard AI+, with one extra input that changes how your extraction runs.
Without CO2 data a controller guesses at fresh air exchange. It runs the fan on a timer, or off temperature and humidity, and hopes the plants have something to breathe. With the sensor fitted it reads the actual CO2 level in the room and pulls air only when the plants have drawn it down.
Do you need the CO2 version?
If you are sealed, supplementing CO2, or running a room tight enough that CO2 gets drawn down between exchanges, yes. If you have a well-ventilated tent on a normal extraction cycle, the standard Controller AI+ does everything else this one does, for less. You can add a sensor later.

- CO2 logged alongside everything else – ppm sits in the same charts as temperature, humidity and VPD, so you can see what your room actually does overnight.
- Alerts on CO2 – catch a stalled room or a failed exchange before it costs you growth.
- Works with supplementation – if you are running a generator or bottles, this is what stops you venting expensive CO2 straight out of the room.

Goes well with
- Climate Sensor AC-SP24 – a second temperature, humidity and VPD probe on a 24ft lead, for reading canopy level rather than wherever the controller happens to hang.

Running a GAS, Hyper Fan or Rhino EC fan?
You will need the Cross-Connector Adaptor Cable plus a Type-A Adaptor to get a non-AC Infinity fan talking to this controller.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a different controller to the CTR89Q?
No. Same 8-port Controller AI+. The difference is that the CO2 sensor is supplied with it, and the controller can then run your fresh air exchange off real CO2 readings.
Can I add the CO2 sensor to a controller I already own?
Yes, the sensor is a UIS accessory and plugs into an existing Controller AI+. Buying the two together here works out cheaper than adding one later, which is the whole point of this version.
Do I need CO2 control if I am not supplementing?
Not usually. A tent on a normal extraction cycle keeps up with what the plants use. It earns its money in a sealed or tightly sealed room, where CO2 is drawn down between exchanges and you would otherwise be guessing. If that is not you, take the controller on its own.
How many devices can it actually run?
