Why An EC Fan
- Full speed control — run anywhere from 0–100% with no humming or buzzing at low speed, unlike an AC fan on a transformer controller.
- Lower running costs — EC motors use around 40% less power than an equivalent AC fan at full tilt, and far less again when dialled back.

Which Size Do I Need?
Work out your grow space volume in m³ (Width x Length x Height), then multiply by 60 to get the air movement needed per hour to refresh the room every minute. Add headroom if you are running in a warm loft or through summer. It is generally better to over-spec the fan and dial the output back on the controller than to run a smaller fan flat out around the clock.
Common Questions
Does the kit include a speed controller?
Yes. Every Air EC Fan ships with a manual speed controller in the box, so you can set the fan anywhere from 0–100% straight away. For automated, temperature-reactive control you can add a G.A.S EC1 Fan Controller separately.
How long does the carbon filter last?
A CarboAir 50 typically gives 12–18 months of use depending on humidity, run hours and how heavily it is loaded. Fitting a pre-filter sleeve and keeping humidity under control both extend its life. Replacement sleeves are available in every size.
Is 5m of ducting enough?
For most tent and single-room setups, yes — 5m covers filter to fan and fan to outlet with room to spare. If you are venting through a loft or across a larger room, 10m combi ducting is available separately.
Do the jubilee clips fit every size?
Yes. The kit ships with universal jubilee clips that adjust from 1" to 12.4", so the same clip works on a 4" kit or a 10" kit.
