Is SugarDaddy just a sugar supplement?
No. Despite the name, it is a blend of 20 plant-available amino acids with only about 2% cane sugar. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and signalling molecules that support growth, metabolism and nutrient utilisation.
What does Technaflora SugarDaddy do?
It gives plants sugars, vitamins, iron and all 20 amino acids in a soluble form. That gives them a simple energy source and the building blocks for protein, which supports strong growth through every stage and brings out the flavour and aroma of flowering and fruiting plants.
What rate should I use SugarDaddy at in flower?
Use 12 mL per gallon (about 3.2 mL per litre) through your irrigation system. Start from Week 1 of flower, or wait until Week 5 when buds are really starting to develop. Check the label too.
Do I need to clean my irrigation lines more with SugarDaddy?
Yes. SugarDaddy contains sugar and amino acids, and microbes feed on both, so your lines need cleaning more often than with a standard feed. Flush them regularly and run a line cleaner such as House & Garden Drip Clean or Dutch Pro Keep It Clean between runs. Fit a good filter too, such as the Profec 3/4 inch 60 micron filter with quick-swap cartridges. If you run Athena, keep Athena Cleanse in your programme to keep drippers and the root zone clear.
Can I use SugarDaddy in veg and in flower?
Yes. It is made for every stage, from seedlings and cuttings through veg and into flower. It is especially useful on low-nitrogen bloom feeds, where it helps plants keep making carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
Will SugarDaddy change my EC?
No. SugarDaddy is highly soluble and chemically stable, so it does not bind with other nutrients in solution or alter electrical conductivity.
Does it work with other nutrients, and in soil as well as hydro?
Yes to both. It works with all Technaflora products or any high-quality soluble fertiliser, and suits soil, soilless and hydroponic systems with a wide range of substrates. Follow the dosing rates on the label.

How to Use
- Shake the bottle before use.
- Add it to your normal nutrient mix. It does not change EC, so it will not push your feed strength up.
- Dose it at the suggested rate below, or follow the label.
Suggested Usage In Flower
Run SugarDaddy at 12 mL per gallon (about 3.2 mL per litre) through your irrigation system. You can start it from Week 1 of flower, or hold off until Week 5, when buds are really starting to develop. Week 5 is the best place to start if you want it working hardest when it matters most.
Running It With Athena
SugarDaddy works with any high-quality soluble fertiliser, so add it to your Athena feed at the rate above, whether you run the Pro Line (Core, Grow and Bloom) or the Blended Line (Grow AB and Bloom AB). Keep Athena Cleanse in your programme to keep drippers and the root zone clear.
Keep Your Lines Clean
SugarDaddy contains sugar and amino acids, and microbes feed on both, so your irrigation lines need cleaning more often than they do with a standard feed. Flush your lines regularly, and run a dedicated cleaner between runs to keep drippers and pipework clear. Use House & Garden Drip Clean or Dutch Pro Keep It Clean.
Use A Good Filter
Run a good filter on your feed line as well, so anything that does build up is caught before it reaches your drippers. The Profec 3/4" 60 Micron Mesh Filter is a solid choice, and replacement cartridges are available so you can swap them out quickly when they need changing.
Which Size Should I Choose?
- 1L: A good fit for smaller grows or trying it for the first time.
- 4L: The bigger bottle for larger grows or regular use.
