Shooting Powder is a 0-39-25 powdered PK feed for the closing stretch of bloom. Drop your base EC to 1.2, add a sachet per 100 litres, and the plant builds a further layer of flower onto what it has already made.
House & Garden Shooting Powder is a late-flower additive with a narrow job and a big reputation. By the last three weeks, most plants have stopped putting on structure and switched to ripening what is already there. Shooting Powder interrupts that: a heavy, controlled dose of phosphorus and potassium restarts cell expansion inside the existing flower sites, so the plant lays down extra mass instead of coasting to the finish.
Phosphorus and potassium are the two nutrients that matter most at this stage — they drive energy transfer, carbohydrate production and flower density. Feeding them in quantity at the right moment gives you tighter, heavier flowers with more resin and no loss of aroma or flavour. It is the same chemistry as House & Garden's liquid Top Shooter, supplied as a dry powder in 65g sachets, which makes it cheaper to ship and easier to store.

This is an advanced additive, not a general booster. Use it only on healthy, well-established plants in good conditions — strong light, sensible temperatures and adequate CO2. A struggling plant will not reward the extra PK, it will show you the tips.
Do not run Shooting Powder alongside another PK product such as PK 13-14. Stacking two PK boosters is the quickest route to over-fertilisation.
Feed Schedule
Shooting Powder runs across the final three weeks of flower. The key step people miss is the first one: bring your base nutrient EC down to 1.2 before you add anything. Shooting Powder then takes the tank back up, landing you at a total working EC of roughly 1.8 to 2.2. If you add it on top of a full-strength base feed, you will overshoot.

Mixing It
- Fill the reservoir with clean, filtered water.
- Add your base nutrients and bring the EC down to 1.2.
- Tip in the Shooting Powder and stir until fully dissolved — no grit left in the bottom of the tank.
- Check pH last and set it to 5.8 – 6.2.
- Leave out any other concentrated PK booster or high-value additive for the duration.

Where It Fits In The House & Garden Range
The usual pattern is Top Booster through mid bloom to set the flowers up, then Shooting Powder for the last three weeks to put weight on them. If you are running a liquid-only feed system and would rather not handle powder, Top Shooter is the liquid equivalent.

When do I start using Shooting Powder?
Three weeks before harvest. It is a finishing additive, so it goes in once flowers are formed and the plant would otherwise be ripening.
How much Shooting Powder do I use per 100 litres?
One 65g sachet per 100 litres in the first week, then two sachets per 100 litres for the final two weeks. That is 0.65g per litre rising to 1.3g per litre.
What EC should I run with Shooting Powder?
Drop the base nutrient EC to 1.2 before adding Shooting Powder. Once dissolved, the tank should sit at a total working EC of about 1.8 to 2.2. Do not add it on top of a full-strength base feed.
Can I use Shooting Powder with PK 13-14 or another PK booster?
No. Shooting Powder is already a heavy PK feed at 0-39-25. Running it alongside another PK product risks over-fertilisation. Use one or the other.
What is the difference between Shooting Powder and Top Shooter?
They do the same job. Shooting Powder is the dry powder version in 65g sachets; Top Shooter is the liquid. Choose the powder for concentrated storage and cheaper shipping, or the liquid if your system suits liquid dosing.
