Grow light ballasts convert mains electricty into the correct voltage to power your grow lights. Digital ballasts are more efficient at this than your traditional and heavier, magnetic ballast.
With digital grow light ballasts, you can control the intensity of your lamps depending on the stage of your plants. Ballasts will run warm so they are better mounted outside of your grow room - heavy duty extension cables can be used to help with this.
