An extraction kit bundles the fan, carbon filter, ducting and clamps in matched sizes. It removes the single most common setup mistake, mismatched diameters, and costs less than buying the parts separately.
Compare every kit by price
Our extraction kit buyer's guide puts all fifteen kits side by side at every size from 4in to 12in, then walks through AC against EC, carbon bed depth and which ducting to pick.
Why matched sizing matters
A 6in filter on a 5in fan chokes both. The fan works harder, moves less air, runs louder and the filter never sees the airflow it was designed for. Fan, filter and ducting all want to be the same diameter, and a kit guarantees that.

Size on the lighting load as much as the tent. A 1.2m tent running 600W of HPS wants more extraction than the same tent running 400W of LED.
What is in a kit
Inline fan, AC or EC depending on the kit
Carbon filter, sized to the fan's airflow
Ducting, usually combi or acoustic
Jubilee clips or duct clamps for every joint
Rope ratchets to hang the filter are worth adding if the kit does not include them, see hangers.
Set it up as extraction, not intake
Air should be pulled through the filter and out. Filter inside the tent, fan after it, ducting to the outside. That keeps the tent under slight negative pressure so every bit of air leaving has been scrubbed, which is what actually controls smell. See odour control.
