Description
The Secret Jardin Dark Room DR300 R4 is the tent that put "dark room" on the map: proper light-proofing at a genuine 3m x 3m footprint with 217cm of headroom, built from materials most tents in this price bracket don't bother with.
At 297cm x 297cm x 217cm and 19.1m³ of usable volume, this is a multi-light, full canopy grow space, the kind of room you build once and don't want to be fighting with every time you open the door.
Why "Dark Room" Still Matters
Secret Jardin built its name on solving one specific problem: light leaking into a flowering tent during the dark period. Even small leaks can stress photoperiod plants into hermaphroditism or uneven flowering, and it's the single most common thing growers get wrong with a cheap tent. The DR300's canvas, seams and zip design are built around keeping the inside of the tent properly dark: not just reflective on the inside, but sealed on the outside.
Built From Materials That Don't Corrode or Sag
The frame is Ø25mm stainless steel, not the powder-coated steel most tents use, which starts rusting the first time nutrient runoff or humidity gets to a scratch. Stainless doesn't care. Combined with 7mm thick polypropylene corners, the frame is rated to carry real equipment, not just its own canvas.
That matters because of what's hanging off it: 10 handling loops rated to 25kg on a single bar and 250kg across the tent, enough for large LED fixtures, carbon filters, ducting and a full SCROG net without the frame flexing or the bars bowing under load.
The canvas itself is M400D Mylar, a heavier-grade fabric than the standard 210D/600D you'll find on entry-level tents, with a PE600D bottom and carry bag, and it ships with a genuinely useful set of pass-throughs: 4x Ø250mm ducting flanges with a light-baffle option, and 4x Ø70mm cable flanges, so extraction and cabling go in and out cleanly instead of through a slit in the canvas.
Removable Everything
The water tray liner is removable (2x WTL300W), so a spill or a runoff mess is a case of pulling the liner out and hosing it down rather than trying to clean inside a fitted floor. The interior lining is a 380g/m² removable fibered liner for the same reason: take it out, clean it properly, put it back, rather than living with whatever gets on it.
The Accessory Kit Most Tents Don't Bother With
Where a lot of tents in this range give you a couple of hooks and call it done, the DR300 ships with Secret Jardin's full accessory system:
- 2x WEBIT300W: net plant support (trellis/SCROG netting) sized to the full canopy
- 4x pairs of HOOKIT: lighting hooks
- 2x pairs of STRAPITT: straps for mounting your filter
- 40x CABLEIT: clips for tidying cables and netting
- 1x POCKETIT: an adjustable-height tool pouch, so pH pens, trimmers and gloves live in the tent rather than on the floor outside it
- 2x SPACE BOOSTER: brackets that save space and support the WEBIT netting
- 1x PATCHIT: a repair kit for the canvas, so a snag doesn't mean a hole for the rest of the tent's life

Ventilation, Before You Order
Secret Jardin advise 2x MF30 extraction fans for a tent this size, so factor that into your build if you're not already running one. Not included, so budget for it alongside the tent.
Who Is This Tent For?
The DR300 R4 suits growers who want:
- A full 3m x 3m flowering or veg room with genuine light-tightness
- A frame that will still be rust-free in five years, not one season
- Multi-light setups where 25kg-per-bar handling loops actually matter
- A tent they can properly clean between runs, not just wipe down
- A complete accessory system out of the box, rather than buying nets, hooks and clips separately
If you've had a cheaper tent rust at the joints, leak light at the seams, or leave you buying straps and hooks separately, this is what "done properly" looks like.
