Grow Tents with Shelves

Grow tents with shelves split one footprint into two independent spaces. The usual setup is cuttings or vegetative growth on the upper shelf and flowering below – two photoperiods, one tent, one corner of the room.

Why a shelved tent

• Perpetual harvest in one tent. Something is always vegging while something else flowers, so you harvest continuously rather than in one lump.
• Two photoperiods. The chambers are separately light-sealed, so 18/6 above and 12/12 below is possible without a second room.
• Floor space. You get two spaces for one footprint, which matters in a spare room or garage.

What to think about first

• Height is tight in both chambers. Splitting a 200cm tent leaves well under a metre each side. Plan on short, trained plants rather than anything tall.
• Two lights, two timers. Each chamber needs its own, and usually its own extraction path.
• Light leaks between chambers are the common failure. Check the divider seals properly before committing a flowering cycle to it.

The alternative

Two separate tents give you far more height and simpler airflow for a similar spend, if you have the floor space – a small grow tent for propagation alongside a 1.2m tent for flower is the usual pairing.
