How UVB Works
UVB light (280–320nm) naturally comes from the sun. When plants detect UVB at 288nm, they trigger the UVR8 protein, a defence mechanism that signals the plant to produce more protective oils and resins. This is what drives the increase in terpene and resin production under UV exposure.
Only Solacure Lamps Deliver the Full UVR8 Effect
Most lamps cannot produce true UVB in the 280–320nm range due to glass limitations. Solacure lamps are different, using specially engineered glass that allows full transmission across the UVB spectrum.
This patented glass, combined with a high-output phosphor blend, makes Solacure one of the most effective sources of both UVA and UVB light, and one of the only solutions capable of fully triggering the UVR8 response.
How to Use
UVB exposure should be introduced gradually. A solid starting point:
- Start with 2 hours per day, split into 2 x 1-hour sessions during lights-on
- Increase exposure by 15 minutes every two days
- Monitor plants closely. Slight leaf tip stress indicates you've reached optimal intensity
Typical usage range:
- Grow tents: 2–6 hours per day
- Larger rooms: up to 12 hours per day
