How long does a Rhino filter last?
The Hobby range is rated around 9-12 months in typical use. Pro filters last longer. Both depend heavily on humidity - running a filter in very damp air will shorten its life considerably.
EC or AC fan?
EC fans are quieter, use less power and give smooth speed control across the full range. AC fans are cheaper up front. If noise matters, go EC.
Which way round does the filter go?
Air should be pulled through the filter and then out through the fan. Mounting the filter inside the tent on the intake side of the fan is the standard arrangement.
Can I replace just the sleeve?
The pre-filter sleeve is replaceable and should be changed regularly - but it protects the carbon, it does not renew it. Once the carbon is spent the filter needs replacing.
