Description

The Bluelab Multimedia pH Meter reads pH straight from the root zone, not just the reservoir. It comes with the Bluelab Leap pH Probe, a toughened spear-tip probe you can push into soil, coco, rockwool or potting mix, as well as dipping into nutrient solution.

Handheld, backlit and battery powered, so there is no power supply to plug in and nothing to set up. Switch it on, take the reading, adjust your pH up or down accordingly.

What you get

  • Bluelab Multimedia pH Meter
  • Bluelab Leap pH Probe, 2m cable
  • Single-use pH 4.0 and pH 7.0 calibration sachets
  • 2 x AAA batteries

Why growers pick it

  • Reads in media, not just water — soil, coco, rockwool, potting mix and solution
  • Two-point push-button calibration with instructions printed on the back of the meter
  • Calibration indicator on screen, which clears after 30 days to prompt a recalibration
  • Backlit LCD for reading in a dark tent
  • Replaceable probe, so the meter outlives the sensor
  • Auto-off and low battery warning
  • 5 year warranty on the meter

Keep it accurate

When the probe eventually wears out, replace just the probe with a new Bluelab Leap pH Probe. Between uses, store it in Bluelab KCl Storage Solution (100ml), and keep it clean and calibrated with the Bluelab pH Probe Care Kit. Want conductivity in the root zone too? Pair it with the Bluelab Pulse Multimedia EC/MC Meter.

Frequently asked questions

Can I test pH directly in soil or coco with this?

Yes. That is the point of the Leap probe. Its spear tip is built to go into the growing medium, so you can read the pH your roots are actually sitting in rather than the pH of the feed going in. Moisten the medium first for a reliable reading.

What is the difference between this and the Bluelab pH Pen?

The pH Pen is an all-in-one unit for liquids only. The Multimedia pH Meter has a separate Leap probe on a 2m cable that reads in solid media as well as solution, so it suits anyone growing in soil, coco or rockwool.

How often does it need calibrating?

Every 30 days. The meter shows a successful calibration indicator which disappears after 30 days to remind you. Use fresh Bluelab pH 4.0 and pH 7.0 solutions each time, not the last of an open bottle.

Can I replace the probe when it wears out?

Yes. The Bluelab Leap pH Probe is sold separately, so when the sensor reaches the end of its life you replace the probe rather than the whole meter. Probes are consumable and carry a 6 month warranty.

Does it measure EC or nutrient strength?

No, pH only. For conductivity in growing media, pair it with the Bluelab Pulse Multimedia EC/MC Meter. For solution only, a Bluelab Truncheon or EC Pen will do the job.

How do I look after the probe?

Never let the tip dry out. Store it in Bluelab KCl storage solution, rinse after use, and clean it periodically with the Bluelab pH Probe Care Kit. A dried-out probe is the most common reason a pH meter stops reading accurately.
