Description

Crazy Hills Kick Off — Eight Strains Of Beneficial Biology In One Powder

Kick Off is a broad-spectrum microbial inoculant built for the root zone. Rather than a single strain, it packs four Bacillus and Pseudomonas bacteria alongside four beneficial fungi, backed by humic acids, algae extract and vegetable amino acids — at a concentration of 2 x 10⁸ CFU per gram.

The result is a more resilient root system that finds nutrients faster, shrugs off stress more easily, and holds its own against the soil pathogens that stall a grow before it gets going. Use it at seed, at transplant, at cutting, and through the cycle.

What's Actually In It

Eight microbial strains plus a biostimulant package:

  • BacteriaBacillus subtilis, Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus polymyxa, Pseudomonas fluorescens
  • FungiTrichoderma harzianum, Trichoderma reesei, Trichoderma viride, Gliocladium virens
  • Humic acids — improve nutrient availability and chelation in the root zone
  • Algae extract — a natural source of micronutrients, trace elements and growth-promoting compounds
  • Vegetable amino acids — readily available building blocks the plant can use directly
  • Total concentration — 2 x 10⁸ CFU/g

What Kick Off Does For The Plant

  • Bigger, faster root development. The Trichoderma species secrete enzymes that break down organic matter and dissolve locked-up phosphates, while producing growth-promoting compounds that push root branching. Bigger root mass means more surface area for water and nutrient uptake.
  • Better nutrient uptake from the same feed. The bacteria improve nutrient cycling in the medium, releasing elements in forms the plant can actually take up — so more of what you pour in ends up in the plant rather than locked in the substrate.
  • Natural defence in the root zone. Trichoderma harzianum and Gliocladium virens are antagonists of common soil-borne pathogens. They compete for space and resources at the root surface, crowding out the organisms responsible for damping off and root rot.
  • More tolerance to stress. Plants colonised with these strains cope better with drought, salinity, heat spikes and the general environmental swings of an indoor room.
  • Stronger finish. Better roots, better uptake and fewer setbacks compound through the cycle into heavier, healthier crops.

How To Use Crazy Hills Kick Off

Stage Rate
Cuttings & seedlings 10–20g per 10L of water — soak for 24 hours before planting
Transplanting 10g per 10L of growing medium, worked through before potting up
Hydroponics 10–20g per 1000L of nutrient solution through the cultivation cycle
Getting The Most From It

Biology colonises fastest when it meets bare root at the moment of planting, so the highest-value applications are the ones at seed, cutting and transplant. Avoid mixing Kick Off into a tank alongside hydrogen peroxide, chlorine-based sterilisers or strong oxidisers — they will kill the microbes before they reach the root zone.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Crazy Hills Kick Off?

Kick Off is a water-soluble microbial root inoculant containing eight beneficial strains — four bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus polymyxa, Pseudomonas fluorescens) and four fungi (Trichoderma harzianum, Trichoderma reesei, Trichoderma viride, Gliocladium virens) — at 2 x 10⁸ CFU per gram, plus humic acids, algae extract and vegetable amino acids.

How much Kick Off do I use?

For cuttings and seedlings, 10–20g per 10L of water and soak for 24 hours before planting. At transplant, 10g per 10L of growing medium. In hydroponics, 10–20g per 1000L of nutrient solution through the cycle.

Can I use Kick Off in coco or hydro, or is it soil only?

All three. Kick Off works in soil, coco and hydroponic systems. In recirculating hydro it goes into the reservoir at 10–20g per 1000L; in soil and coco it is best applied directly to the root zone at transplant.

When in the grow should I apply it?

As early as possible. Beneficial biology colonises fastest when it meets bare or newly disturbed root, so seed sowing, taking cuttings and transplanting are the highest-value moments. In hydro it can then be dosed into the reservoir through the rest of the cultivation cycle.

Can I mix Kick Off with hydrogen peroxide or a steriliser?

No. Hydrogen peroxide, chlorine-based products and other strong oxidisers will kill the microbes on contact. Run them separately, or choose one approach or the other for your root zone — sterile or biological, not both at once.

How is Kick Off different from a mycorrhizal product?

Mycorrhizae form a physical symbiosis with the root and extend its reach into the medium. Kick Off works differently — the Trichoderma and Bacillus strains live around the root, breaking down organic matter, unlocking phosphates and outcompeting pathogens. The two do different jobs and are often run together. See Psycho Myco if you want a mycorrhizal inoculant alongside it.
