Large LED grow lights covers fixtures from roughly 600W upward – the output you need for a 1.5m tent, a 2.4m tent, or a room running multiple fixtures side by side.
Bar format over panel. Multiple bars spread light more evenly across a big footprint than a single central panel, which is bright in the middle and dim at the edges.
Efficacy. At this wattage the difference between 2.4 and 2.9 µmol/J is a meaningful sum on the electricity bill over a year.
Dimming and daisy-chaining. Running four fixtures from one controller, dimmed together, is far better than four independent lights at fixed output.
Driver placement. A remote driver moves a chunk of the heat outside the tent, which reduces what your extraction has to handle.
Heat is the real constraint
LED runs cooler than HPS but 800W is still 800W of heat in a sealed box. Size your extraction for the total lighting load, not for the tent size alone – this is the most common reason a good fixture underperforms.
