NIR is a red light that becomes visible with a thermographic camera. It is therefore not directly visible to the naked eye.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe theory that this red light would not contribute to photosynthesis is outdated. New studies have shown that when the red spectrum and NIR are combined, the sum is equal to or even greater than the individual parts. So the colours Red and near-infrared must be combined to work properly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStudies show that combining red and far-red increases the photosynthetic rate BEYOND the sum of the two. Which translates to bigger flowers.
