The diaphragm inside the emitter opens when a pressure is reached and allows water to pass.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn practical terms, \u003cem\u003eeven within\u003c\/em\u003e the specified operating pressure range, the output from a pressure compensating system can vary due to emitter design, small pressure fluctuations and maintenance conditions. If emitters are clogged or not maintained, they will not give you the intended flow rate and watering goes uneven.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eKey point on clogging\u003c\/strong\u003e: debris and mineral deposits build up in emitters and restrict flow, so some plants get less water than they need. They fit perfectly onto existing Wilma (aka Origin) systems.
