Beschreibung
The Essentials pH Meter is truly an essential piece of kit for any grower who wants reliable, repeatable pH readings without paying for features you'll never use. This is a Swiss-made unit, rebuilt from the ground up for this relaunch — same simple, dependable operation, tightened up with better build quality and more consistent calibration.
It's water and drop resistant (though not for full submersion) and will float if accidentally dropped in solution, so you can fish it out before any damage is done.
Why Choose the Essentials pH Meter?
| Feature | What It Means For You |
|---|---|
| Swiss-Made Build | Precision engineering behind the sensor and electronics, redesigned for this relaunch |
| Simple One-Button Operation | Turn on, dip the sensor, read the display — no menus to fight through |
| Water & Drop Resistant | Floats if dropped in solution, so you can retrieve it before it's damaged |
| Auto Shut-Off | Powers down automatically after around 15 minutes idle to save battery life |
| Batteries Included | Ready to calibrate and use straight out of the box |
How to Use
Turn the meter on and place the sensor in your solution. When it beeps, the reading is ready.
Calibrate using a pH 7 buffer solution (the meter includes a small storage pouch). Dip the meter in Buffer 7, then hold the calibration button until the display reads CAL — the meter will calibrate itself automatically.

Pair It With the Essentials EC Meter
pH tells you if your nutrients are available to the plant — EC tells you how much is in the tank. Run them side by side with the Essentials EC Meter for a complete, budget-friendly measurement setup.
Looking After Your pH Pen
A pH probe is a consumable, not a set-and-forget tool — how you treat it between uses is what decides whether it lasts one season or three.
- Rinse after every use — clean the probe tip with fresh water to stop nutrient salts building up on the sensor
- Store it wet, never dry — keep the tip in pH storage solution between uses; a probe left to dry out loses accuracy fast
- Calibrate regularly — recalibrate with a fresh buffer solution every 1–2 weeks, or before any big reservoir change
- Clean monthly — use a dedicated probe cleaning solution to strip residue that plain water rinsing won't shift
- Never submerge the body — only the sensor tip should go in solution; keep the housing and display dry
Keep Your Pen Accurate for Longer
