Description

Gas AC-EC Digital Fan Controller, A brand new digital controller from Gas, this controller will control all your ac and ec fans, it handles up to 5 amps each socket and has seperate day and night settings for, temp, Humidity, max and min fan speed.

Precision Control of Both AC and EC Fans

The AC-EC Controller will get the best out of any duct fan, regardless of whether it uses AC technology or a newer, more sophisticated digital motor. The AC-EC will regulate fan airflow rates according to temperature AND humidity levels, with different settings for day and night, allowing you to get your environment spot-on at all times of the day.

  • Now compatible with V2 Hyper Fans as well as Vectors
  • Can run older AC fans and digital EC fans at the same time
  • Regulates fan speeds according to temperature AND humidity levels
  • Allows you to choose different settings for daytime and night-time
  • Automatically senses daytime and night-time periods
  • Helps to control high humidity levels, making it great for those with powdery mildew and botrytis
  • Heavy-duty - capable of handling a load of up to 10 amps (5 amps for each AC socket)

1 x GAS AC-EC Fan Controller (supplied without EC controller cables)

How the AC-EC Fan Controller Works

If you've just upgraded to a newer, more efficient EC extraction system, but you still have an AC intake, then the AC-EC Fan Controller is exactly what you need. It comes with two sockets that can handle a generous 5 amps each: one for your intake and one for your extraction system. And you can regulate EC fans at the same time by connecting them to the unit using controller cables or the Hyper Fan adapter (cable pack 16) (if you're running V2 Hyper Fans).

However, having the flexibility to combine different fan types isn't the only thing that this amazing little piece of kit offers. The AC-EC offers additional functionality over other controllers by allowing you to choose different settings for daytime and night-time. Plants have different requirements for light and dark periods; when photosynthesising, many popular indoor-grown plants flourish at around 25 degrees Celsius. During darkness, overall growth rates are enhanced when the temperature drops down to around 18 degrees.

Most other fan speed controllers cannot account for this fact, but the AC-EC is equipped for the job! A light sensor is built into the probe, so you don't have to worry about programming in lighting periods, because this is taken care of for you.

Whereas most controllers only factor in temperature, the AC-EC also pays attention to the humidity levels in the room, increasing airflow rates if levels get too high. High humidity levels can lead to issues with botrytis (rot) and powdery mildew - two conditions that can cause absolute devastation. Ask any grower who's ever lost a big chunk of their harvest to mould and they'll tell you that excess humidity is something that you need to avoid at all costs.

Please note that the AC-EC Controller is not compatible with V1 Hyper Fans.

How to Use AC-EC Fan Controller Works

The AC EC Controller can handle a total load of up to 10 amps which should be spread over no more than 5 amps for each socket. This is more than enough to accommodate even the largest fans. A 5 amp capacity allows for a total of 1150 watts on each socket (5 x 230 volts). To give you some perspective, a 12-Inch Stratos (with an airflow rating 3812m3/hr) uses 332 watts of power, or 1.44 amps. EC fans are not powered by the fan speed controller; they are connected via controller cables, so they do not need to be factored into the total load.

What Cables do I Need?

The AC-EC doesn’t come with any controller cables. To connect directly to a Vector EC fan, you’ll need a 5m Male to Male Cable (active and non-active versions will both work fine). The AC-EC has two sockets: one for your intake fan and one for your extraction, so if you wish to run two fans, you’ll need two cables.

To connect V2 Hyper Fans, you'll just need separate adapters, as they already have cables. Look for G.A.S Hyper Fan Adapter (Cable Pack 16).
